Every piece is a repaired, redesigned, hand-worked original. This is what denim looks like when a generation refuses to throw it away. Bleach, paint, patch, stitch - no two ever come out the same.

What is Denim Republic?

Denim Republic AB is a Swedish company for denim education and innovation. The Denim Gym will be in Bolinder Strand, Stockholm; pop-up events come first. The focus is repair, redesign and circular fashion.

What is Denimrebels?

Denimrebels is the community and movement behind Denim Republic: young people learning to redesign denim and change the fashion industry. Not a brand you buy - a movement you join.

Where does Denimrebels come from?

It grew out of a denim school project in a school just outside Stockholm, Sweden. Students gave faulty stock from a local Levi’s outlet a new life.

What is the meaning of Denimrebels?

Rebels in denim: people who refuse to throw clothes away and reinvent them instead. You’ll also see it written “denim rebels” or “denimrebel”.

What is a denimrebel?

Anyone who picks up a needle instead of the bin - who repairs, redesigns and reclaims denim rather than replacing it.

Are Denimrebels bad?

Only to fast fashion and waste. The “rebel” is against throwaway culture, not people - it’s a warm, welcoming community.

Is Denim Republic a place?

It will be - a Denim Gym taking shape in Bolinder Strand, with pop-up events first - and it is a company, Denim Republic AB.

What is a denim gym?

A gym where, instead of weights, you train with sewing machines, scissors, bleach and paint - getting strong at repairing and redesigning denim. Book a class, drop in, or work with a Personal Tailor.

What is a Denim Circular City?

The idea we are building toward in Bolinder Strand: a district where denim is collected, repaired, redesigned and worn again in the same place - gym, school, showroom and events within walking distance, so a pair of jeans can live its whole second life locally instead of being shipped away or binned.

Is Denim Republic a workshop?

That is the plan. Denim Republic is developing hands-on denim education and workout sessions - a denim workshop in the old sense - while building toward a full denim school (a “jeansschool”).

Where can I customize my jeans in Stockholm?

Denimrebels is planning a three-day Customize Jeans class for all levels at a Stockholm pop-up. You’ll learn techniques to make your denim raw, unique and entirely yours. Dates will be announced on the events page; the Denim Gym will be in Bolinder Strand.

Where can I repair my jeans in Stockholm?

The Denimrebels Repair Club is planned as a one-day Stockholm pop-up: bring the jeans you can’t let go of, learn to repair them and leave with them alive again. Dates will be announced via the newsletter.

Is there a denim workshop in Stockholm?

Denimrebels is planning hands-on customize, redesign and repair sessions as Stockholm pop-ups. The Denim Gym will be in Bolinder Strand; dates will be announced on the events page.

Can I learn to sew and fix my own clothes in Stockholm?

The planned Denimrebels classes are hands-on: you’ll bleach, stencil, patch, paint and stitch real denim, from beginner level up. Pop-up dates will be announced on the events page.
